START WITH THE SKY.

No Make-Up Interior, city of Sofia

/A luxury minimalist apartment that masterfully blends warm minimalism for an effortlessly chic living space/

With this project the author creates a protected space yet open to the outside world, to nature, with which we are immanently connected and on which our well-being, health and productivity depend; and also our relationships with the other inhabitants of the home.

Biophilic design per se, achieved not by adding greenery, but by “painting” with natural light, by providing natural air circulation; and an open part, facing the casual veranda with a panoramic view, harmonious transition areas, endless windows.

“I grant I never saw a goddess go; My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground. / And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare / As any she belied with false compare.“ Just like in a Shakespeare's sonnet (130) is the feeling that this home gives you – earthy, gentle, almost monochrome colors, natural, honest materials – walnut wood, microcement, natural textiles. Minimalism, in which even the decorative elements – abstract, organic – are not a counterpoint or accent, but rather an elegant confirmation of the holistic design, providing serenity and peace. Because the accent here is the person.

Comfort for the eyes, the body, but also the soul.

The bulk objects (the modular and upholstered furniture, the built-in bathtub, the study room, etc.) flirt with the day/evening light, changing their silhouette and shade, but always remaining well-tuned with the colors of the sky, which is present in every sight. It is as if the designer has given up the textbook rule of starting the selection of rasters and colors from the textiles and has adapted everything to this variably bluish, white-pink, red-orange or gray-beige dome.

One bold decision that we can safely call no make-up interior.
